Our Mission
Pacific Singers & Actors Workshop is a startup nonprofit conceived in 2012 by Curt Branom, Kristin Clayton and Nicolle Foland as an after school performing arts program for middle and high school students to be presented on San Francisco Bay Area school campuses. As highly-trained professionals, we have a collective 70 years of experience in the worlds of musical theater, acting, opera and classical music. We were fortunate to receive encouragement to reach our highest potential in the performing arts during our middle and high school years, and we are now in a position to give that same encouragement to those students who may lack exposure to performing arts during the school day.
Because of our current experiences as working artists and as teachers in individual and master class settings, our desire is to share our passion for creative expression and the habits and tools necessary to create a foundation in singing, acting and improvisation. Our 90-minute modules presented once per week for 10 weeks are designed to enable students to gain not only performance techniques, but also life skills such as confidence, flexibility, self-awareness and the ability to collaborate.
By sharing with them these fundamental and vital skills, students will have the opportunity to discover their inner artists, allowing them to apply the creative process to their personal goals, whether to audition for the school musical, give a speech or presentation in class, run for student government, have the confidence to participate in group settings, put their best foot forward in a job interview or simply for their own enjoyment.
